The Ford Aspire take 20" driver side and 16" passenger side replacement windshield wiper blades. When the windshield wiper on a Ford Ranger comes on by itself this can signal a damaged windshield wiper switch.

Changing these switches out often corrects this problem. The windshield wiper governor on a Ford F is located behind the glove box. It is on the left side of the cowl. The windshield wiper relay is under the dash on the drivers side of the passenger compartment.

You can find your Ford Expedition front windshield wiper fuse in the fuse box. The windshield wiper fuse will be in the second column, fourth from the top. The Ford Crown Victoria windshield wiper relay switch can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment.

The windshield wiper relay switch will be on the passenger side of the firewall. It is important to have a diagram when working on wiring in a car. A diagram for the windshield wiper can be found in an online Ford forum, or in the specified maintenance book.

The wiper relay is underneath the dash on the driver's side. In the same location are the relays for the horn, headlamp, flashers and door locks. They are in cluster of relays. You will have to remove the wiper arms, then remove the cowl, and then the wiper motor.

The Ford F1 50 pickup truck windshield wiper fuse is located in the fuse box. The windshield wiper fuse will be in the second column, second from the top. Turn ignition switch to the ACC position. Turn turn signal and windshield wiper switch ON. Allow windshield wiper motor to move the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts three or four cycles, then turn off the turn signal and windshield wiper switch. This will place the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts in the park position.

Turn ignition switch to the OFF position.

Remove the windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade by first applying downward pressure on the windshield wiper pivot arm head, while holding the windshield wiper pivot arm. Then lift the windshield wiper pivot arm to the highest position and, using finger pressure only, grasp slide latch tab and slide latch out from under the windshield wiper pivot arm head.

Remove windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade assembly.Windshield wipers are powered by a motor that receives volt power through a switched wire. Complete failure of the wipers to work can be a complicated troubleshoot, but working with a motor that still runs on one speed is less challenging. Diagnosis can be time-consuming, but it is not complex and requires only one tool.

That the motor operates at one speed confirms power to the switch is good, but the switch itself could have failed.

Use a multimeter bridged between the upstream supply and each of the contacts while operating the switch. If a reading above 10 volts is made on each contact, the switch is fine and the problem is downstream. If the reading is made only on the high-speed terminal, the switch has failed. Further, they can become clogged with atmospheric contaminants that act as insulation. That the high speed -- the least frequently used -- selector still works suggests the tension has gone from the low and intermediate speed contacts.

If they can be accessed and bent to create more tension this is a temporary fix at best; replace the switch. Having ascertained that the switch is good, test the wiring harness.

If the wiring harness is connected at either or both ends with a multiblock, consult a workshop manual -- many manufacturers and enthusiast websites publish schematics online -- to learn which wires and which terminals convey which wiper speed signals; draw a plan on a piece of paper showing the wire colors, terminal positions and their functions.

If you do, the wiring is fine; if you do not, the wiring has failed. Repeat the exercise with the intermediate speed. If both circuits are sound, the problem is in the motor; if they are not, replace the harness.

The wiper motor could have failed; it could be receiving the correct signals from the switch via the wires, but be unable to act accordingly. The circuits and windings inside wiper motor housings are seldom user-serviceable; obtain a replacement from a dealer or junk yard.

Faulty grounds are renowned for causing a multitude of seemingly unrelated problems. Most wiper motors have a dedicated ground wire in their harness, however some utilize the bolts securing them to the body as a ground.

Trace the ground wire from the motor to its mounting point, then scour both the underside of the connector and the mounting point on the chassis with very course sandpaper -- grit or heavier is recommended -- then replace, ensuring the fastener is securely tightened.

Following the instructions on the packaging, use dielectric grease at the contact points for an even better repair. If working on a vehicle which does ground through its fasteners, remove the bolts and lift the motor away from its mount, then relate the procedure detailed above to the contact surfaces.

Some modern vehicles use a relay or control module between the switch and the motor. These components are seldom user-serviceable, and even diagnosis can be difficult for the untrained technician.

Everyone gets under the truck looking for a drain hose The drain itself is actually just a hole cut in the side of the wiper box that water runs out of, down the core support of the inner fender, and out the plastic box you see at the bottom of your front door edge.

At no point is there an actual drain or hose, nor can you see any part of where the drainage area is in the fender. The water free falls the whole way down inside the fender lining to the bottom of the lining. The only way to clean it is to do the following Remove the fuse box by the two clips takes no time at all, literally unclips.

You as well may wish to undo your battery terminal if you are the skiddish type just so no energy is present. Afterwards, remove the three 7mm bolts holding the plate on to the firewall. Look at all that crap You can see the box with the side plate removed here in these two pics, the triangle area. At the bottom of the fender unbolt the box and drop it down so you can clean out the mud, it will likely be packed full.

The water accumulates and becomes a little swap in there. It can be frustrating when your vehicle keeps blowing your windshield wiper and washer fuses. Several reasons exist for a blown fuse for windshield wipers and washers. The windshield wiper or washer motor could be drawing too much current.

To see if this is the problem, disconnect the wiper motor for a little while.

If the fuse doesn't blow, the motor is drawing too much current. Another reason for a blown fuse for your windshield wipers and washers may be debris or ice built up around the wipers. Look around the wipers and see if there is anything that could be interfering with the arm movement, and remove it. Test to see if this was causing the problem. If you have a fuse that keeps blowing, do not replace it with a larger, higher amp fuse.

The size of the fuse is predetermined to help protect the circuit. If a larger amp fuse is placed where it is not needed, it will not stop the flow of the current when necessary. You may have two. There may be a power distribution box located in the engine conpartment next to the firewall under a plastic cover.

There may also be one in the passenger compartment at the left of the instrument panel.

Is there another fuse somewhere for the rear tail light? I have a Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and all power windows stopped working, where is the fuse located for the power windows or could it be the switch pack on drivers door main window switch? I have a different car.
